Q & A
As many movies as I watch (theatre or bootleg) seldom am I thrown for unpredictable plots and endings…that being said, if you find a thrill in the unpredictable, such as myself, then this movie The Perfect Host is a must see. …. the preview may lead you to believe you have an idea about it….BUT YOU DON’T…..and even an hour of watching the movie you will think you can predict the ending….BUT YOU CAN’T…..all one can do is watch!
When I feel hopefully (yes, I did intentionally use the positive form of hopeless) romantic Vanessa Marquez is one of my favorite artists to let my sappy thoughts flow to….
There is no denying that I’m a sucker for a great meal—but a great meal from a refreshingly trendy family owned café? Lets just say if I invested in stocks…it is businesses like these that I would assume are lucrative. There is just a noticeably different quality in the taste of food made from independent restaurants and chain restaurants, with a family business I can taste the passion for the art of preparing the food…so I know its real. Today I had the opportunity to indulge in one of my best steak and eggs experiences yet—granted I have only had that meal about 3 times in my life, but The Wood Café in Culver City takes first place on that experience. Besides the salivate-at-your-mouth-while-watching-each-plate-food-passby-praying-for-yours type of thoughts that this place will cause you to undergo, the atmosphere and presentation of the café as a whole is what maintains the uniqueness of it. There are few restaurants today that aren’t either too urban and playing background music that exceeds the “inside voices” volume limit ultimately destroying the essence of the bond over food philosophy or making you feel as if you are on a time limit from the moment you sit down to when the plates are scraped clean. The Wood is like a less clichéd Starbucks. This café has the vibe and coziness of a lounge, food that could have been blessed by a Greek God, recession conscious prices and attentive service. It is as amazing as I am making it sound, but don’t just take my word for it….

Be wiser than other people if you can, but do not tell them so - Lord Chesterfield
Contrary to what knowledgable Lord Chesterfield advises, I have decided to expose and share the practical wisdom I have acquired in life through somewhat biased evaluations of our everyday reality and the weirdos it is filled with. That being said, I will use a cliche tokened phrase by explaining simply….this blog will be composed of my “two cents” on whatever intrigues my attention deficit mind at any given moment. My parting line: many of you will come to agree that my 2 cents could be cashed out for 2 million.
